Background

Historical Background

The committee originated from a 2015 meeting between the OSGeo Board and the UN GIS team at FOSS4G in Seoul, Korea. Kyoung-Soo Eom, head of the UN Geospatial Information Section, invited OSGeo to participate in a working group on Geospatial Information and Disaster Services.
